Hellenistic Influence On Judaism...
Judaism was influenced by Hellenistic philosophy as seen in writings of aristobulus author of wisdom of Solomon and Philo of Alexandria. Though it was questionable as to whether Hellenistic influenced only the elite or other classes too
It can be seen through the platonic peripatetic and stoic ideology that there is a theme philosophical monotheism( that is to say that their ideas or beliefs were due to one god) which Judaism also holds.. As example we can see with Cleanthes "Hymn to Zeus" “with many names” is an indication that Zeus or God is the summation of several gods Apollo Dionysus, Hera, etc.
We can see similar examples with claims that Jews and pagan all worshiped the same God. This was an attempt on both parts to bridge the difference. Philo of Alexandria believed that it was the same god behind western and eastern beliefs
an example of why such a claim was held can be seen with Exodus 22:27 “you will not speak badly of Gods”. Philo thought Moses prevented Jews from condemning other’s beliefs so as to not allow them to possibly offend the one true God implying a degree of belief that other traditions might be worshiping the same god or different gods that add up to the same God. Another similarity to be found with Judaism and other philosophies is it’s attempt to reduce any anthropomorphism so as to not offend the many. To "reduce" God to human terms was taken as an insult to many people's religions. God was in a state of being unique to only him based off exodus 3:14 " I am who it is I am". Another important point both Judaism and Hellenistic philosophy agreed upon
